Already an Enzepploziner? You'll find a download link in the next edition of the Enzepplozine. | And that’s all fascinating stuff. But here at learn-about-led.com, we don’t do that. Why not? Because the other guys have more time and resources to devote to that kind of thing. It’s their passion and it shows. My passion is to share with you news of a different nature. Things you won’t have already read or heard about somewhere else. For me, “Led Zeppelin news” means brand-new exclusive info I’ve uncovered during the course of my research. Why would I share with you?I’ve been collecting Zeppelin books, albums and artifacts for decades. It all started because I loved what I heard in the band’s music and wanted to learn all I could about it. You too, maybe! I was too young to have seen the band in concert, so I had to rely on the accounts of others to recreate the experience for me, as I listened to the music. I totally respected the Zeppelin musicians and also those who wrote about them. Authors like Howard Mylett, Robert Godwin, Luis Rey, Chris Welch, Dave Lewis, Simon Pallett, Stephen Davis and so many others really brought the concert experience to life. Now it’s my turn to help advance the body of knowledge about my favourite group and yours. This website is my own version of what makes Led Zeppelin news! I love to learn. And to teach.
Brand-new info every month. For FREE!My online newsletter is called the Enzepplozine. Catchy name, isn’t it? Every month, my sister and I create a new edition and have it emailed to our Enzepploziners. Someone once told me that I have an encyclopedic knowledge of Led Zeppelin, especially about the band’s early days. But our Enzepplozine covers the band’s entire career, not just the first few years. And it goes well beyond that. I’ve been a musician all my life and I took music courses at university. So I really enjoy sharing what I’ve learned and tying it into Led Zeppelin’s music in relevant, specific ways. That’s what makes Led Zeppelin news for so many people! Whether you’ve enjoyed Zep’s music since the 1960s or you’re a kid trying to play like Jimmy Page, you’re going to learn something really cool you never knew before. C’mon - check it out!One of my all-time favourite Enzepplozine issues is a perfect example of what I mean. We published it as a two-parter in February/March 2008. Based on a theme of “February Blues”, it started with a history of blues music. That’s absolutely fascinating in itself. Because I’ll bet you didn’t know how British colonists in the American South contributed to the development of what we now call the blues. Or that you knew what a “blue note” is. But the real kicker is how I demonstrated the features of blues music with very specific examples from Led Zeppelin songs. There’s even a picture of Jimmy Page on stage during Zeppelin’s first-ever gig at Gladsaxe Teen Club. He’s playing You Shook Me. A thimble-like device on his fret finger is recreating the bottleneck or fuzzy-sounding effect that the old bluesmen achieved with the broken-off neck of a glass bottle. Now that’s what I call Led Zeppelin news!
