Do you love Led Zeppelin? Want to learn more about the group?

Hi! I’m Frank Reddon. Welcome to learn-about-led.com. I’ve been collecting Led Zeppelin’s music since high school. If you’re like I am, you have a sagging shelf of books about the group. Boxes of musty magazines. And a bunch of old vinyl LPs you couldn’t live without.
And I still can’t get enough. Can you?
There are so many great bands. Have you ever wondered what makes Led Zeppelin so special? Why is Zep’s music still the most requested on classic rock radio? Well, I wondered that. And then I made it my mission in life to find out why.
Twelve years and over 18,000 hours later, I’ve found some really great answers! And I’d like to share them with you, because the research trail has been totally fascinating. I’ve discovered things that no one has ever known before.
You’re thinking, “Yeah, right. After 40 years, how could anyone find out anything new about Zeppelin?” Well, there are lots of great books about the band. Interviews with band members. Tell-all books with tales from the road.
But think about it. What could a guy like me possibly ask Jimmy Page that he’s never been asked before? So I took a different approach. I started talking to people who saw the band perform live.
I’d follow any guy with a grey ponytail because he might have been there. You’d be surprised how often that turned out to be true!
I talked to musicians who shared the bill with Led Zeppelin. People who promoted their concerts. I asked university professors what they thought of Zep’s music. Audience members described to me what they saw and heard in concert firsthand.
At the same time, I started a detailed analysis of the music itself using a method that no one has ever tried in print before. Led Zeppelin was phenomenal at improvisation. By studying the band’s live concert recordings, I can show you exactly how a given song evolved over time.
I’ll help you hear things in their music that you’ve never heard before, no matter how often you’ve listened. Together, we can re-create the concert experience from the set lists they played, to the audience noise to physical descriptions of the venues.
